what are you going to do about this hard heart? How could you ever love yourself let alone Heather with it?

I'm going to mourn, lament and weep over it, as recommended here: http://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=james%204:8-10;&version=50; and here http://biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20cor%207:10-11;&version=50; There really is no other choice. Only repentance will soften the hard heart.

I wish there was something I could say to ease your heart right now, but I know there's not. I'm sorry you're hurting. But don't let your heart harden. Stefanie's right, you have to be able to love yourself first. (Is it not enough for you to have legions of adoring female fans?)

Crap. Hit return at the worst possible moment. Sorry. I try to keep the sarcasm from surfacing, but it won't stay down. Of course it's not enough, that was of course me being silly.

Beth - My heart is not hard because of Heather; it's hard because of years of accumulated crap - especially pride. The way to a soft heart is through godly sorrow which brings repentance (as opposed to worldly sorrow which brings death). (See the links in my last comment.) Although legions of adoring female fans helps significantly!
